For those who didn't see any previous posts, i had a year off riding, and only rode western for the two years before that. So my english riding is shit a little rusty.

I've been having lessons at a lovely little school to get back into it and everything is coming together! RI says my transitions were much, MUCH better today (Had been struggling a little with trot - canter - trot transitions which had really been getting me down - When i know how to and know i can do something and it doesn't happen! Grrr!), and i've gotten back into the habit of actually using the reins and doing it well apparently (The mare i was riding western, i could and would practically chuck the reins at her and GO! Used to gallop the length of our onsite hacking track thing holding the buckle of the reins regularly).

I was so so pleased with my transitions and seat today i had to share. Feel free to ignore my rambling, it's just so nice for riding to feel how it should do rather than like i'm bumbling around winging it.

Also may have bitten my brothers girlfriend and infected her with the horse bug. She came with me to watch the other week and then booked a lesson andshe enjoyed it - Think she was quite pleased with herself she did well to say she's never sat on a horse in her life! (And considering she asked me two weeks ago if horses have teeth and if they can hear?!)

Nice to have someone to go with - She has her riding lesson right before mine so we can go together and if one of us has to take any kids along one of us sits with the kids while the other has their lesson and then we switch which is nice :)

Oh, she's going to hate you when she gets a year or two down the line and realises she has an empty bank account, and permanently smells of horse! Grin
