Can I please bore you all with how amazing my horse is?

Sorry, but I am just bursting to tell the world. I have been trying to keep a lid on it in RL, as I know nobody wants to hear me go on and on, but hopefully some of you will understand on here!

I've got him on loan and it's only been 6 months, but I really did not know horses like this existed. I feel so lucky to have him! He is an absolute angel on the ground, my 5 yo leads him around, and grooms him, (stood on a bucket as he is a fairly big chap.) He is also as good as gold to hack. Forward going but nothing really phases him.

Where he really excels is jumping though. I started a thread on here about 2 months ago, worried I'd look stilly jumping 2' in competitions because I was too scared to jump any bigger. Yesterday I jumped a tricky 3' course on him, and we won the class. We have been to a few competitions now, showjumping, x country and dressage, and we haven't come back without a rosette yet, mostly with red ones. Admittedly this is all at small local shows, so very low level stuff, but it is so much fun.

He has done so much for my confidence, and taught me so much already, and I am lucky enough to have him for another 18 months at least. He really will jump anything he is pointed at. A couple of times yesterday I put him at the first of a treble on the wrong stride. He just takes over, and bounces over them. He is really careful, as well as dead honest.

Please feel free to ignore me, I just needed to say it before I burst! Grin

Aww that is fantastic Yorkie, he sounds like a great (assuming) schoolmaster for you to ride. A good point and shoot jumper is a great confidence giver, especially when you are just getting back into jumping. I was lucky enough to find a loan just like that when I went back to eventing several years ago.

Worth their weight in gold Grin.

He sounds fantastic. We have had our new girl just 2 weeks, but initial signs are that she is made from the same mould. I've never fancied XC before but with her I feel I could do anything.

Do you have a photo?

Ah he sounds lovely, how nice to hear a good news story for change :)

I miss my girl, she wasn't exactly a schoolmaster but she was kind and honest and we had loads of fun.

Thanks all! Zazzles, you are right he is a proper schoolmaster, and to think I almost turned him down when I went to see him initially, as I thought he might be a bit dull Blush

frenchfancy, I know what you mean. It is lovely feeling you could give anything a go isn't it.

Sorry to hear about yours Snoopy!

Gilbertus, you may have quite a wait, you'd have to wrestle him off me! Grin
