Boys' Jodhpurs

Probably a stupid question, but is there any difference between girls' and boys' jodhpurs? They look exactly the same to me, but thought I'd better check before I bid on a pair, or DS would kill me! Grin

Have looked at that website and I can't find any boy's jods, they all say child's or maid's. I thought some very small men's ones might do as ds is 13 but they only seem to do breeches for men on there. Am I looking in the wrong place? I've been trying to get some jods for ds since may, his birthday money is still in my purse despite searching Hickstead (twice), the New Forest Show and several tack shops there is nothing.
Got to admit, for a child I don't see there is any difference apart from the over-abundance of pink. I've never noticed any boys wearing jods with different fronts. Ds's last pair were from a local saddlery shop, good quality material and looked very smart (navy with a double row of red piping). It was only when I saw them advertised in a magazine that I realised they were for girls but they looked fine on him. Now he's growing up I feel I ought to be looking for proper boy's ones but where are they?
OP if your ds is younger than a teenager I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you get a decent weight material and not too tight so they don't look too clingy.

Watching thread with interest. DS (6) currently wearing DD's old Saddlecraft ones and seems quite comfortable thankfully.

DS - just wears what the local saddlery shop sells (titmas) - the choice for boys is abysmal, a sea of pink and purple....but they do have the odd pair of navy?

What about at Burghley - are you going pixel.....just made me thinnk I should add jods for DS onto shopping list

Don't think I'll get to any more big shows this year, except maybe Olympia, but from past experience they don't do much for boys either. Last time the only thing I could find for ds was a hat!

Oh that's terrible pixel - I hate that boys clothing across the board is so limited.
I had a quick look on eBay and there are ones in there - not specifically boys - but childrens in boy friendly colours

Thanks for the replies everyone Smile

DS is 13, nearly 14, and looked a bit Hmm when I showed him some navy jods on ebay that didn't specify girl/boy.

Mine is 12 and wears Dobbys Jods - there is no difference between boys and girls (although he is a very skinny child with long legs and not a typical boy shape) and they fit him fine.
