Well after 19 days with no turn out, we've got the go ahead for 3 hours tomorrow....

My big girl has the best timing ever & has decided yesterday would be a perfect time to go hoping lame!

Lone behold after 24 hours of poulticing she has a very stinky gooey hoof. Lovely. Quite how she's managed to get an abcess after bein in for 3 weeks is beyond me.

Have washed my hands 3 times & can still smell the yucky stuff!

Me too... judging by the amount of ick and the size of the split that has appeared today (yesterday was tiny split maybe half a cm) today goes from shoe to frog. I'm guessing its a biggie she must have had brewing for a while. Really hoping its not from when she was shod last week...
That could be embrassing seeing as we bought her from the farrier.

Just thought she was stiff from no turn out the last week or so (not unusual for her to be intermittantly lame on the front)
Untill yesterday when she was all of a sudden desperatly lame.

feel for you, I HATE poulticing

in the summer after a day or so we turned him out anyway, with a lot of duct tape, but doesn't sound like that's an option for you?

Yeah I would too in the summer when the ground is better, with the aid of a carrier bag & lots of tape.

But its like soup out there & a long boggy walk to the field.

Also after 3 weeks of being in too I think shed go lala out in the field too.
