I know I treated myself to a 4 hour trek Christmas Eve - with a pub stop for mulled wine and mince pies ...we are going to drown :(

I have never ever seen our place under so much water. We usually get some mud around the shelters but the main gate and paths along are always clear. Except for now. I've just been down to the local farm shop to get chaff and chook feed and the horse field there has a lake at the bottom that you could literally sail a boat on, and we are on chalk, not clay!

Gordy don't worry, I'm told horses can swim. Just don't let the horse have any mulled wine Grin.

the lovely horse I am taking is partial to rolling in large puddles and walking into lakes - that's part of my worry Grin still can't wait

The water is literally running down my paddock! Poor beasties are sopping! Sad

It has to stop soon, surely! We had to keep ours in day and night yesterday for the first time, they were not happy, but the field was a swamp.

I reckon we are having a whole winters worth of rain now, so it will be dry after Christmas, for at least a couple of months. Smile

I hope you're right Not - according to the forecast it's dry until tomorrow, pouring all day, bit drier on Tuesday and then rain through until Friday. I despair, I really do.

Dpony came in last night at 6 and his coat was still damp this morning (only on top, not right through). He's in all day to day to keep dhorse company and he seemed quite happy to be snuggled up in deep straw munching his hay.

It's sunny and dry here at the moment, hopefully it will last more than 5 minutes!
