Anyone else get bored of riding out on there own?
I kind of loose motivation to do it, and now it's p*ing with rain which isn't helping!
I keep my girls at home so not got them at livery anymore and I miss all the goings on.

Yes I don't like riding on my own either & it's not a confidence thing as I love riding out with my 8 year old daughter who would be more of a hinderance than a help in a sticky situation.

Like you, mine are kept at home & despaired of finding anyone to ride out with but I saw an advert on Preloved for someone wanting a riding companion & I was lucky that she was a 10 minute ride away, so we hooked up together & are now great friends who ride together a couple of times a week.

Try putting an ad on Preloved or somewhere similar, as there will probably be a few people around in the same situation. If my friend hadn't we'd both be riding solo, not knowing about the other.

Bah,the dds are struggling to ride after school as it gets dark so early.I have hardly any work so lots of free time and had planned to go for a hack on dpony today and yesterday. Then DD1 was off school after a very mild tummy upset-she is fine but I can't send her back and I could hardly make her accompany me whilst I ride her pony.DD2 would go lulu if she found out that DD1 had been riding whilst she was at school,so we are all fed up.Especially dpony, who stands and kicks the gate whenver she sees me because she wants to go out.

I was so like that when we had our own place and horses at home. It had always been my dream but when it happened I found I really missed the other people at livery yards. I completely lost any desire to ride.

Now I'm back at a yard and so much happier, I still like hacking on my own but I love having other people around and hearing all their news.
