We are very excited, he's just turned one, and Mum thinks it's time to introduce him to horses (which is fantastic of her because she's scared of them)! Gd will sit on old pony, with little one in front of her. Do you think we might then try him on his own? Will post some pics of them and all our lovely horses (whether you want to see them or not) Wink.

if you are confident about letting him sit on, on his own why not? As long as you are in grabbing distance!
Do they still do basket saddles -would be ideal - or maybe you've got one..

good luck

Ahhh,he's only little yet,in a year or two you may well get your shetland.Grin

DD1 was horse obsessed from the very beginning and had to endure years of nagging from her before she was old enough for lessons.Last winter, when it was -10 she still never missed a lesson.DD2 on the other hand, wasn't really bothered when younger but now is very keen and very determined, nothing puts her off, ponies going off with her, being thrown, she doesn't give in and insists on continuing her ride even when she's been badly scared.I wish I could find something smaller for her.
