Need some free hay!

Hello all, I thought this might be a good place to try, I am organising a function for the Junior Ranks based at RAF Brize Norton with a wild west type theme and we're after some hay bales for decoration. Preferably free! How would one go about getting this? Is there ever any spare hay lying around stables? Thanks in advance!

You're probably better off with straw bales rather than hay bales- you really probably want to borrow rather than take don't you?
Contact your local pony club?
(round Brize there must be loads)

aaahhhh showing my ignorance about all things hay related! Thanks very much for the info, I was a bit worried about borrowing them as the probability is they will end up booze sodden and then noone will want them back.

ok I have been quoted £2.25 per bale. My next question is, is that good value?
