Team Chase rider passes away :(

I am surprised there is not a thread on this already but just wanted to express my sorrow after the first ever team chase rider, Jo Rugman, was killed in competition this week. She leaves behind a husband and young family

So sad. There was a fantastic picture of her in the Mail that was taken just before the accident and shows that she was going well. here.

I saw that pic Pixel, it is a great shot of her.
No detail about what actually happened other than the horse came down on her.

It sounds like it, it reads to me like she had died before they left the course.
I really feel for the poor child who was there watching, at least one was spared that.

For those whoe are interested, I saw an announcement in the newspaper - her family asked for donations to www.seesaw.org.uk a grief support unit for children.

very late to this thread, very sad indeed, particularly for her young daughter who was watching -how awful,
but she is most definately not the first team chasing rider to die. Wind back to the zetland hunt time chase in the late 1970s poss early 1980s and a woman rider with a beautiful dun horse was killed jumping some large round straw bales - they were banned in competition after that. i remember because I was there, and was team chasing reguarly at that stage and had admired her horse often.
