What do you really want to be able to do?

On a horse that is. My wish is totally infeasible. I want to be able to gallop in slow motion like they do at the end of Narnia. It would just be fab wouldn't it?

But I will settle for being able to get flying changes right every time.

What's your wish?

To take Sideways Show Jumping international - to go round Badminton sideways, to really get Sideways Eventing recognised as a whole new equestrian endeavour, globally.

(just because we only ever cleared one jump {2'6!} sideways by accident doesn't mean this can't happen, if I believe and work hard enough?)

OMG sideways showjumping would be so much fun!!!! heh.

I would really like to be able to go around a proper huge X country course, but with no scary moments, just perfectly well balanced jumps :)

Would like the confidence to accept all the rides offered to me.

I'm very happy riding our horses of course and have had hirelings out hunting in the past. However recently quite a few people have offered me mounts to go hunting inc. masters spares, ex racehorses etc and I'm nervous because I don't know them and not sure I could do them justice. Shame because they all say I'd be doing them a favour.

I'd like to ride in a point-to-point and ride across the Canadian Rockies. Not on the same horse though...

I wish that both I and my horse had the ability and guts to go round Badminton. Her dad did - He came 8th once I believe.

I would love to take my show cob hunting but don't have the confidence - she can be a loon in company and I would be bricking myself - If anyone fancies taking her let me know. Out local is the Rockwood Harriers

Abbicob - hope you can achieve your aim. I always hunted my show cob which other professional producers were suprised about. Even in the season before we won the Royal International etc we'd been out 6 or 7 times with the Thurlow. It meant that he put back bulk over lean muscle - rather than blubber -and taught him to have the best gallop of any cob in the country that year.

I only stopped hunting him a couple of years ago when he turned 22.

Fantastic wish list so far.

Is sideways riding hard on the rider's back?

it does if you are not properly sideways fit, when I only rode normally or not at all for several weeks our first zigzaggy sideways uphill canter hurt my back a lot. Need quite strong (trying to think of muscle names?) obliques?

Am currently visualising me and DH going for a nice calm ride together at the weekend, him on Nell, me on nice new pony, (Megan). I will be calm and confident at all times and not think I'm about to die if pony looks at me a bit funny!

I can't yet aspire to joining the sideways riding movement as I'm a bit too wussy.

I would love to ride out with DH again but 'his' horse had to be PTS last year and we really miss her. There is no way I can afford another horse for quite some time so I guess this will have to stay on the wish list.

I am jealous.
