while my mare was cantering sideways and putting her head between her knees Grin

Inbetween the thoughts of "little trollop" (as she squealed! WTF?) i thought "I wonder if this is what Love's hacks are like, and does she really enjoy them?" Grin

When i got back to the yard i did feel i ought to go to church to thank God i got back in one piece Grin

Here I am, have pm'd you! My hacks always involve a bit of sideways cantering, one of my favourite things :) do NOT like pony rodeo though as come off at least two out of three times Hmm.

Life has been a bit too exciting in general recently - turned 40 which was fun, taxed my car six months late which was a relief, went to funeral of daughter's friend which was awful, became a grandmother on Saturday morning while dressed as a prostitute which was exciting and embarrassing as am usually in jeans or jodhs, not flashing the tops of my seamed stockings - funny how what seemed appropriate for a night out looked wildly out of place by 7am in a birthing unit. Then on way back from birth (would not have missed the event for anything) my tyre came off on A14 which was exciting at first but cold, boring and unnerving after several hours of waiting (still dressed as prostitute) by edge of dual carriageway.

Now we have mud fever which is a headache from a moving them around night and day point of view, hoping a stable will materialise.

Boo for mud fever though, it is rubbish. I can't remember what cream DH recommends for it, can ask later.

Just asked DH about cream, it is called Special heel ointment, and is basically lanolin(nipple cream!) and a couple of other things.

HI Netex do a really good range for mud fever. Its called muddy marvel. They do a wash to get rid of the scabs and then a barrier cream after it has been used for a while it is only put on once a week.

It's a boy! It's insane how anxious and excited the whole thing makes me, like having my own babies but worse in some ways, better in others. He is even cuter than a foal or puppy or kitten :)

I got Muddy Marvel barrier after absolutely everyone raved about it, also (probably pointlessly) loaded up on Mud Guard powder stuff. Caught it early, it's dry and no scabs - just little bald bits. Annoying but at least he isn't lame with it. Might as well be, having just broken his NEW(ish) bridle Angry. was tacked up and tied for literally two minutes and did his 'I know how to get my head collar off' trick and broke the headpiece of bridle underneath it instead. WHY?

Goodness. You sound like me! Those are the kind of things that happen to me! I broke down in Tesco carpark, at ten pm, after attending the Ann Summers catalogue launch. I was dressed as one of he seven dwarves! Confused
