Anyone done a short break/long weekend? Looking for somewhere to escape with a mate next month for a few days.

I have friends who've been here: www.annaharveyfarm.ie/ and rate it highly - I booked a week once but needed to cancel last minute. :(

iceland! can't recommend it enough for something totally different. DH and i went a few years ago and had two great rides, would have loved to do more. One was with a lot of novices but we still got loads of tolting on the way back and forded a fast flowing stream. the other ride was just us and leader and fab- really fast with great horses (dh horse was faster than mine :( he usually gets dud ones as i have to say to trek leader he is not that experienced)the horses are fab - i am biased though as i used to work with them. quite a few tour operators go there or you could get a recommendation for somewhere to ride from Scottish or British Icelandic horse associations and organise it yourself.

Iceland gets my vote too.
Went last year for 4 days. Looked at the exchange rate and was cheaper to go to Iceland than have a holiday in UK. Mind you be prepared for mad weather!!! But horses were great, amazing scenery, and have a fond memory of riding up a valley stopping for lunch, then geting our kit off and relaxing in a hot geothermal stream, then back on the horses and off home.
Would love to go back again.

Can't recommend www.frenchridingholidays.co.uk highly enough -fabulous rides in the Lot Valley, great company and excellent food.

Would love to go to Iceland though too.
