to find job at school where I could put my DC

I just wonder how realistic to hope to find a job in private preps school so that I can get my DC in? I miss them... and my dream of seeing them everyday is so strong that I cannot think of anything else...I sleep, walk, work and think all the time of my DC... I want to see them in school growing and developing....

Never mind how realistic it is, do you not think its a little all consuming to want to be with your children all the time.

There are usually limits on what you can see / do with kids as a parent teacher so don't think you will necessarily see them or know more about them as a result of your job.

Of course you love them and want to see them grow but be careful that your desire to do that doesn't become controlling and interfering. Your children may end up damaged as a result ( it's not easy as a child with parent as teacher ).

Also if your main motivation to take a job is to get your kids in, your chances of success at interview will be limited as schools are likely to want people whose interest is aligned with schools and developing all kids.

Would you be able to focus on your job if they were there?

I don't think getting a job in a prep is at all unrealistic. They need teachers with arms, legs and a head just like any other school. The staff discount might not be as massive as you think though. We are only getting a 1/3 off at the school DH works in (4-18 though, so it will count for a lot over time).

Are you a teacher?

Reread your op. What advice would you give to the parent of a child in your class who felt that way?
