Anyone else signing up for the hell that is marking this year?

Just sent off the acceptance form for GCSE English marking.

I'm going to hate myself come June.

I convince myself that the combination of the money and the help with teaching the course the following year is just about worth it. Just.

It's that depressing moment when the postman arrives with a pile of grey sacks and your life waves goodbye and walks out the door.

I always feel like my accuracy/grade depends on which team leader I get. In Jan I got A, in June C. I can't have been that different in a few months!

Mine's online which I think is more dangerous-too easy to ignore!

I said no this year. First year in 10 years. Yay!

I will be doing again as well, all online for me too. Our accuracy grades are quite scientifically determined, based on the online hidden seeds, they mark how many times you get those wrong ( and even stop you online if necessary)

Yes AQA antoinette. Usually do 2 papers, always to my regret around mid June!

I'm doing aqa Lit ... Sigh. Swore never again last year. Posted acceptance form off today.

I wanted to do language Antoinette but was told they have no vacancies! I thought they were desperate! Any top tips to get a transfer from Lit?!

Silly Q perhaps, but how do you get marking jobs? Do AQA advertise?

I'm lit too. My TL told me last year was the lowest uptake for students...wonder if it will increase again now lit counts in the performance measures.

It's great for your teaching tho. My lit results shot up the first time I marked.

I'm not doing language I'm doing straight 'English' (though as far as I know it's the same!).
