It sounds like a great opportunity! My dc do breakfast club etc every day, it hasn't scarred them for life

Go for it. Is it a non-teaching role? If so, I find it is possible to slink off early-ish a couple of nights a week so DS and I can have some afternoons together (bit different if you have to fit in 'deputy' jobs after teaching).

It is a good time to be out of the classroom IMO!!
