The litter tray

Every time my boy cat sits on my lap for a cuddle he gets 'excited'

Not had a Tom for years but don't remember this happening. Not that it's a problem but it's a bit of a surprise to suddenly come across his penis!

He's a rescue so has been neutered. Is this fairly normal? Not that I imagine I can do much about it anyway!

Grin

Do you know how recently he was neutered?

Well he was in the shelter for a year before we adopted him so I imagine it would have been done soon after he went in. We got him in February so 6 months at least.

I have a humping cat, sigh. Drives DH batty, makes DC cringe, makes me laugh. He's a bit soppy, really. Probably was neutered a bit late but still "done" at least 8 yrs ago.

If it's done to change behaviour I think neutering has to be before puberty. At least this cat doesn't spray.

My cat does this! He's almost four, and was neutered at 6 months...

I just repeatedly placed him on the floor, and now he only occasionally has his way with our discarded clothes. Thing is, our kitten is beginning to copy him, so looks like we have two 'sexy cats'. Grin

Ours "puts his lipstick on", he was neutered at 5.5 months. I ignore it, dh gets most upset by it all.

Ewww...cats actually do this?

I have a boy cat, and didn't even know he had a penis. (DH was so dramatic about him being neutered, I thought everything had been cut off Hmm)

Just the testicles, they've still got to wee. Dh didn't want our cat neutered.

I think it ought to be offered to all male animals. ALL of them.

Yep, i've got a humping one too. He gets particularly excited if I wear something fluffy and tries to hump my arm. It's quite disturbing.

My late cat was a humper. He was neutered at about 6 months but did it until he got too old.
He started with my arm (managed to stop that! ) and moved onto certain jumpers. That was until DH and I started living together and DH brought a small soft toy dog he'd had for years and left it on the bed. That toy dog became my cat's boyfriend and was humped at least once a day until he got too old and arthritic to manage it anymore. He was a fantastic cat (not just because of the funny humping! ), I still miss him.

Morph (neutered) used to hump my head Blush I'd wake up in the middle of the night to find him getting very happy in my hair!!!

Eventually we gave him DS2's 'Bear in the Big Blue House' stuffed toy. It was amuch abused toy!Grin

My little animal does it to my cashmere jumpers. While purring very loudly. Grin

I put up with it for a while but then have to intervene. What would happen if not, one wonders? We shall not find out!

I fostered a cat who did this, he first came to me at 6 weeks old(found in my garden after being dumped by a neighbour) I found him a home but was then returned to me when he was 10 months old when his new owner was evicted from her house.

I was considering keeping him until he saw me as a mate and used to jump on my arm cling on for dear life (biting me to hold me down) whilst humping away!!!

I used to have to shout dh to get him off it was actually quite scary!!

I got him neutered (owner didn't bother!) and rehomed him, I explained the behaviour to the new owners but they never reported any problems wth him. It was a shame because he was a lovely natured cat!!
