The litter tray

Cat fed up with me :(

Here I am again.
Got back from a 1 week break with the family yesterday. We had a friend come in to clean litter boxes and feed twice a day, and just be around for a bit.
Apparently both cats ate, pooed, came in and out happily. There was no inter-cat aggro which flares up time to time.
Since I got back, small cat seemed pleased enough. Still won't sit with me or let me pick her up though so no change there.

Bigger cat is well miffed. Has minimum to do with me now and inter-cat spats broke out tonight when smaller cat nabbed the favoured sleeping spot. Bigger cat normally comes to sit on my belly the sofa for a little bit but no chance of that.

I bought them a cat-frenzy chase toy before going on holidays, but this can only be used if one or the other is out, which is fine. They have lots of toys, scratching posts/barrels, outdoor access, decent food (which I'm planning to improve through reading on here).

I don't know what to do with them. Hoped I'd have a little cuddle buddy in one or the other of them but it's all looking very unlikely now. I don't know how to make their lives nicer or more comfortable.

Just venting really. I love them, but I think I'm purely a protein source for them disappointed face

You are being punished for leaving the property for a period time without consulting your cat first. I know this because two weeks ago I got exactly the same treatment from my three after a week away.

Things are back to normal now, but I have been warned that this must never happen again, otherwise Denial of Strokies and Purrs will occur again.

Yep - it's a residual sulk. Your friend didn't get it because she was the food and comfort source for a short time so they were being nice - but it sounds as if they feel more secure with you and can therefore be a bit stroppier.

Just go about your daily business and allow the old routine to take over. They'll come round.

Yep, you went away. It's not really allowed unless its the cat buggering off for a week and then it's acceptable behaviour.

Just be glad you didn't go away for two weeks.

Thanks so much for your replies :) Flowers

Hope they will come 'round again :) Confused

I miss the cuddles (whatever there was of them!). Small rations are better than none!

Roast a chicken. Never a cat I knew who could resist that smell!
