Scared cat living on top of my kitchen cupboard

Hi, I've love cats and have always had them.

I have three cats, all female. They get along ok, one of the is a hunter, brings lots of gifts in...

A couple of months ago, I rescued an abandoned cat. She is about one, very timid but so loving. She gets on with my other two cats but not the hunter. She spends a lot of time hiding from the hunter on top of my kitchen wall units. She's too scared to go out, I put her out and she's straight back through the cat flap. I've kept hoping they will sort it out themselves but she's so scared she just runs when she sees the hunter and then hunter chases and it gets nasty etc I've made a fuss of the hunter, plenty of reassurance etc tried to fuss timid cat etc but it's not getting much better. DH says things will get better when the weather improves, any ideas?

We had one like that, she might not want to go out especially if she was abandoned and associates being out with having no home.

def wait a bit until the weather gets better

I have 2 adult cats, had them from kittens - they first went out last spring (cold!) at about 9 months old & were petrified, slinking along with bellies on the ground & jumping at the slightest sound/movement

they did gradually get more confident, & they do like outside now; but only in a very limited range (our backyard, not much further) & only if it's not raining/cold/windy Grin

Get the felliway plug in, I was sceptical until we got or most recent addition, worked almost instantly in getting ours settled and tolerating each other! Grin

It is expensive but we only needed one!
