The litter tray

Cat is a spoilt, diva-esque nightmare!

My cat is utterly spoilt - he is very demanding and gets a lot of attention, especially from my DP. We have recently moved house and he seems to have settled in well but for the last 2 weeks he wakes us up at 4/5AM every day, ostensibly asking to get out. He doesn't need to pee as if he really did he would use his litter tray, which we keep for emergencies. Quite often he wakes us up just for a cuddle. I have tried ignoring him (attempting classic supernanny techniques!) but my DP always caves and gets up. He does also resort to sticking his grubby wee paw in my mouth while I sleep if I ignore him too long. He goes crazy trying to dig his way into the room if we shut him out (rented house, can't afford to replace all the carpets)- he is deeply offended by closed doors. He is awfully cute and we love him to bits but I would dearly love a full nights sleep without waking up with him sitting on my chest/ bum/ pillow purring and looking for attention!
Obviously this is fairly light-hearted but any advice would be appreciated?!

Hmm, mine looks hopeful at that time if I stir but I ignore him and he settles down on my feet again with a sigh.

Gro clock? Grin

Could be the disruption of moving - is he going out yet or still settling in?

We kept him in for all of 12 hours when we moved - he was driving us daft! He just doesn't give up. The night we tried to ignore him he meowed, purring, burped in my face and pawed at my face for well over an hour.
I am thinking something equivalent to baby calpol might be our only answer :)
My DP informed me that he must have had a nightmare at 1AM this morning to explain my he was such a pain in the butt!

Have you got a room you can lock him in? Much as I love the cat he gets up way too early and also does paw in the mouth.

He has a hot water bottle though to salve my conscience.

I am no help as these are the features I live about my cats. I could only pretend to be cross that they squabbled over me at 3am this morning.
