Leave it for a few days then. It's more important that they stay peaceful and eating from/bonding with Mum at the moment.

About 5 , she doesn't seem to be straining but her belly is going up & down quite fast & she purrs outloud every so often

Goodness, you don't sound dumb at all.

I've never had a pregnant cat who had problems but I know that babies can sometimes appear some time after all the others - and also that 3 is a relatively small litter.

I confess, given that she's still restless and is having what might be contractions (?), I'd be thinking about a kitten still inside or an undelivered placenta.

Maybe another poster could comment.

Are you around all day today to keep an eye on her?

I have to nip out for an hour (really no choice) but I think I'm gonna ring the vets when I get back as don't want anything bad to happen , thanks for your help x

How are Mum and the kits doing this evening?

They are doing really well moving about & very vocal , If she leaves them she shouts one of my other cats to come watch them , its ridiculously cute

Good. With only three of them, I'm guessing they're having no trouble finding a teat each ? You're going to end up with three very fat little puggies!

They are all fighting over the same teat until one manages to get on & then they move on lol

Have never seen newborn kittens IRL & photos like this make me want to! Tiniest Kittens I've ever seen were those belonging to the cat of the local shop where my family were on holiday in Greece when I was 10. ShopCat gave birth a week or two before we arrived & I was allowed to see & stroke the kittens when I went to buy rolls for breakfast each morning. The shopkeeper was quite keen for us to take a kitten (or two) back to the UK with us but even if they'd not been quite so tiny the idea of a cat spending the first 6 months of its New Life in Quarantine too awful for us to consider adopting. (And then a few weeks after we got home Mummy died & the cat question got shelved. Another reason for me to be all bitter about her sudden-unexpected death...)

Babies do not make me in the least bit broody but kittens make me wish I had little kittens to look after. But I would want to keep them all FOREVER...

Are you going to rehome them yourself or will an animal charity be helping you do so? If the former, could you sort out matching up people & kittens so that you feel that you are just caring for these other people's kittens for them until they're ready to move out?

My mum is having one & so is my older sister & I get to keep one
I'm rehoming them with family because I know they will be looked after & plus I get to have lots of cuddles still

Very wise ... Sounds as though it'll not be a disaster if you get attached to the kittens if you're keeping one & the other two are going to family as you can have visiting rights, no?

Yes I still have visiting rights it was part of the agreement

Think it's excellent you'll be able to see them grow up & be in contact with them w/out actually finding yourself owning umpteen kitties
