The litter tray

Best litter for lots of wee

my older cat 17, has started to wee in the litter tray after years of exclusively going outside. He produces gallons of wee (he has been checked by the vet and is ok) The litter is sodden and stinks after a couple of days though. I have preferred a crystal type for years for the other two as it didn't smell, lasts ages and it dehydrates poo fast until it's scooped. So is there a better kind that will last for longer and not be too horrendous to change?

We use Catsan & i find that works great even with 2 cats, it seems more expensive, but I find it lasts better, so is better value

i use wood pellets type litter as it breaks down to sawdust so seems to soak up the wee without turning into concrete, and being wood based it absorbs some of the smell aswell

I agree with Issey. I find the wood based litter the best

Ok. I shall try the wood. Catsan I have had before and am not mad keen on. Thanks for suggestions.
