The litter tray

Swollen bottom

My 9 year old cat seems to have a swollen bottom. It doesn't seem to be bothering her too much but wondering about the vet? She stays mainly indoors and will go outside but only in our garden so she isn't usually in contact with any other cats. Should we take her to the vet or see how it goes? Off on hol for a week on wed. Thanks

I would take her tbh. Might be nothing but better checked out. Cats tend to hide when their ill and in pain- if they r showing it then they are really ill. In other words just cos she's not showing any pain doesn't mean she isn't :)

Yep - sounds like the vet to me. (Without getting into what exactly you mean by a 'swollen bottom'.)

Mine had a swollen bottom (anus?) and it was blocked anal glands, he had antibiotics and the vet squeezed something out of them.

He didnt seem to mind the treatment tbh.

It was soon fixed anyway.
