The litter tray

cat sitter, bit full of herself......

spoke to a cat sitter the other day, seemed like a nice person until she let it in about how it often comes about that the cats she sits end up liking her more than their owners Confused . this left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, not because i am concerned my cat may end up preferring her but just seemed a bit odd to say that to a possible new client, she said it in a way as if she was proud of herself. i don't think anyone would want their cat to pine for someone else once they had returned from their holiday even though you do want your cat to like the sitter.

cats just like whoever is going to feed/stroke them. She is deluded and you have nothing to worry about. BTW I have had cats all my life and they don't pine or show much of a preference as far as I've seen.

Cats like whoever feeds them.

She seems immature and silly.

How would she know if they did? Do the cats write her little letters saying "Please come back we much prefer your tin-opening technique"?

i don't know tbh. she does more than feeds, she hangs out with them for a bit, gives them affection if they are that way inclined. i was somewhat taken aback when she said this, in what i perceived to be in a bit of a smug way. perhaps clients had told her how their cat seemed to be cold towards them or something after they had returned from their hols. i think she thinks of herself as a bit of a cat whisperer, tamer, implied that all cats loved her no matter how vicious some owners may describe their cat as being

Maybe she was just trying to reassure you that your cats would be ok with her?

My cat doesn't seem to like anyone TBH. Grin

i have no doubt that my cat will like her, i want her to like her, just thought it a bit vain in the way she said it. she is coming round next week to meet my cat, be funny if she bit her :-D (only jesting)
