Missing cat

One of our lovely kitties is missing :(

We haven't seen him since yesterday morning and he's never stayed out overnight before. We don't have a cat flap but my DH stayed up really late last night in case he came back, but no sign. We've checked the roads around the area in case he'd been run over. He was wearing a collar, so I'd hope even if he'd been hit by a car someone would ring our number. He has been microchipped too.

If he hasn't come back by tomorrow we're going to print fliers and put them through neighbours doors asking them to check their sheds and garages. Is there anything else we haven't thought of? We're so worried and sad.

Is it too late to knock your immediate neighbours?

Is he neutered?

Have faith xx

One of our boys came back after two months. We reckoned he'd been shut in a shed for a while. That was before we had house cats only.

Knock your neighbours doors and ask them to check the sheds, they dont always miaow when they are locked in.

Ours got locked in our car for 90 mins today, never made a peep. Found him on the dashboard. Couldve throttled him.

Call vet tomorrow too?
Print out some pics and plaster local places?
Remember they can lose collars! Stupid question but I have been known to think I have lost a cat when they have hidden/got shut in my house or garage. DS had a cat who got under a kitchen unit.
Ours love stinky fish. Always good to waft a plate of that around.
Sending good vibes.

Thanks for your kind words and helpful suggestions.

We're keeping our fingers crossed but I help thinking of him stuck somewhere or worse :(

Well you had him chipped so that's a head start there. He may be in a shed somewhere and found shortly. Best of luck, anyway. It's dreadful not knowing.

Thanks cozie. We've had a real rollercoaster of a morning having found a cat, dead on the main road which we were convinced was ours. Took it to our vets only to discover that it's not ours. Very upsetting as I'm sure you can imagine. We've put a poster up where we found it so hopefully it's owners will find that. No collar and no microchip so I really hope they see it.

Just to let you know, our cat has been found dead :( Someone kindly looked on his collar and rang our number. He must have been killed by a car last weekend. We're very sad but there's a sense of relief that at least we know.

Thank you for your support and kind thoughts

Thank you so much everyone. He was such a special boy, we'll miss him so much. I keep remembering how super soft and velvety his fur was :(
