The litter tray

Anyone up? PTS decision

Cat is 12 and has lung cancer (probably, no biopsy)

Slowed down over last couple of months and dramatic weightloss over last 3 weeks. No real interest in food and seems to find chewing hard but also not keen on pates or treat food blended. He is losing energy and not self-grooming.

It is time, isn't it? Sad

We have a check-up booked for tomorrow. He was losing a bit of weight. I can only think it will have gone down more. I can't tempt him to eat. He is lacking energy.

Oh dear :(
My most recent cat developed some kind of cancer and bumbled along happily for quite a while. Then she started to lose interest in food and withdrew into herself. We took her for a checkup and that seemed to finish her off, like the effort of leaving the house was too much. She very definitely told us it was time.
You'll know what to do and when it needs to be done xxx

Thanks - every vets appointment has felt like a death sentence

He has had a couple of weeks in the sunshine, not his old self, but happy enough but now it seems he isn't really enjoying that.

Shit Sad

So sorry, it is a really hard decision to make, but you know its for the best. If only they could do the same for people sometimes - it really is kinder than dragging it out.

He looked at me last night and I knew.

He is at peace now and I am just incredibly sad.

He was a tuxedo with a weird miaow and a head wobbling thing going on. He was fairly nervous and pretty much only liked me. We had him for 12 years and he came from the cat rescue. He was such a pretty kitten, I fell for him as soon as I saw him. I will miss him snuggling down in his favourite position on the back of the chair pushing his face into the back of my head. He was incredibly sweet natured and loving with me. Some arse actually shot him at close range several years back but he survived. I am usually quite pragmatic about life and sort of grown up but my cats are a soft spot. He was a joint cat of the marriage. I even wanted to talk to X about it (we are on OK terms) after the PTS. I know it was time and he wasn't enjoying life but it is just a bit crap.

I will wallow today and get myself together tomorrow. The vet was great - really kind. I have 2 other cats who will probably get spoilt rotten now.

You should take as long as you need to get over your loss.

We have a neighbour who has purposely shot 3 cats. He shoots to injure them as much as possible, not to kill them Angry.

That's awful Just Shock

FWIW I reported the shooting on the non-emergency number in case there was a spate of them. I also believe that people who harm animals for fun are capable of further wickedness.

He has several guns and appears to have health issues but he is allowed to keep the guns. He just doesn't answer the door when the police go round Hmm.

I know. It cost my friend £1000 in vets bills for their kitten.
