Hi,
DD(6) and I are off to Madeira in October with my parents. We are planning in doing a Levada walk which the adults have done before. This time we would like to take DD. Most of the walk is on a wide path but some of it is a narrow path next to a huge drop. From memory there is a kind of fence but if DD was to slip then she would fall underneath.
We had the idea of tying DD and I together with a buddy line (extendable dog lead is an alternative!) so if she fell I would stop her from falling too far.
Has anyone got any ideas of what we could use?
Climbing ropes are too long and a little life rucksack not strong enough. I am also not too sure if full climbing harnesses would be too heavy for her and a bit OTT.
Just wondered if there was anything practical to use or I just get her to be really careful (which I am sure she would be), or just give the walk a miss.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
