Trail Hounds...

Anyone know how much walking a trail hound would need to be happy? Or how they would be with being left for a few hours? I've found the trail hound welfare site and am wondering if they would tick all our child-friendly/floppy-eared/cat-friendly boxes.....

I know nothing about trail hounds, but most dogs are child and cat friendly if brought up with them from puppyhood. Sometimes a dog's background will be known to the rescue, or the dog will have been fostered and the fosterer might be able to say if it was cat or child friendly.

(Our big dogs regards all cats as dinner except our own cat, who he adores and sucks up to shamelessly).

I've met a couple. They need a lot of exercise, and can take off on a scent and bog off.

Cat friendly is def a dog by dog thing no matter the breed. My 2 year old lurcher is subservient to the cats (and is scared of the chickens). Puppy lurcher has learnt very fast that cat1 is in charge of the house. Of course there are other lurchers that would have not done this
