I have had my gorgeous girl 3 nights. She is doing ok on toilet training few accidents wont pooh outside or on mat yet but early days.
My issues are night time during the day she is sleepy has a few crazy 5 minutes but usually snoozy then at 2 she comes to life till 7 ! I am stupidly sleeping downstairs with her till shes settled .What do you think i should do? tough love?

I've had mine since Thursday. She slept through the night for the first time ever. She is crated in my bedroom at night. I am waiting to see what happens tonight!

Anyway, late night feed here. Loopy 15 minutes ish and then she snuggles up in her blanket in her crate and goes to sleep (has a toilet break first).

That is working currently. Intention now if tonight goes ok I am going to slowly move her onto the landing in her crate. When she has better control of her bladder I will not bother with the crate.

Of course this could change, frequently.

We do the crate to stop the puppy eating all the furniture. After a few nights they settle down as long you don't respond to the whining....

I'm finding it very hard to ignore the whining but know if i don't i might create a mini monster !ive managed to keep her playing loads this eve so hoping i tire her out !

Either me or dp slept downstairs near the crate for the first few nights -
No whining at all and after a few days he was sleeping through the night

He's now 13 months old and mostly beautifully behaved so it seems to have paid off - he's certainly not a little monster!

Hi, we've had our puppy for 3 weeks. She cried what felt like ALL night for the first 2 nights when I slept downstairs with her. What I realised is that she hated having to use the paper in her crate to do her business on. I've now created a pen around her crate using an old guinne pig hutch and leave the crate door open. I now just leave her too it and clean up the paper in the morning. No crying!

Puppy was a nightmare last night i made the mistake of trying to get her to sleep in kitchen she was very dozy so went straighr to sleep . Then two hours later she starts screaming i attempted to ignore and wait for her to go quiet before going to see her as didnt want to encourage barking and whining but she didnt stop . I gave in (bad yes) and i slept downstairs with her but she continued to scream for 4 long hours she was so angry i'd left her! Today she is very clingy everytime im out of sight she starts crying and running around.

Never let a puppy cry it out, you are setting her up for separation issues later. Let her sleep in her crate next to your bed so you can comfort her if she needs it. She is a scared and confused infant that has just been wrenched from everything she has known, her Mum and her littermates.
