My Dogue De Bordeuax recently died of a heart attack and he had cancer Sad he left behind another dog who wasn't coping well without another dog as he had never been alone so we got a Rescue Johnson American Bulldog who we adore but part of me feels like there's a Bordeaux hole missing in my heart my partner however is at the conclusion they don't live long enough and 2's enough.

Stupid iphone wouldn't let me finish, guess I was just wondering if anyone had/has 3 dogs and if it makes too much difference because I know partner would be swayed if he read a rescue story Grin

Not mastiffs but a rescue story. We had 2 greyhounds - they got on brilliantly and were nicely settled together. We decided to give fostering a go. Fostered a few dogs, and then along came a beautiful blonde greyhound, on our wedding anniversary. An old boy, incredibly handsome with the most beautiful nature. Pic attached. We waited and waited, and not a single person expressed any interest. Several months went by, and not surprisingly we had, by that time, completely fallen in love with him, and on his birthday, decided he was staying for good. He was an absolute star and when he went to the bridge in August 2012 we were both devestated, and I still miss him. One of the things I'm proudest of is getting my KC Gold award with him when he was 12 - every second we had with him was precious though.

In terms of practicality, we didn't find it particularly difficult going from 2 dogs to 3 - we already had an estate car and were used to having our sofa/bed being taken over by pointy nosed shapes.

Now we have 4!
