My old girl has gone Sad

She was 14, had a huge growth in her liver, was nearly blind, going deaf and completely doolally but she was gorgeous.

She got under the wheels of the builders truck this afternoon as he was reversing out of the yard Shock

No blame - just one of those things and at least it was quick.

God I miss her.......

I'm so sorry, I hope the memories you have of your time together bring you some comfort and knowing how much she was loved and how much she loved you too.

I so sorry. At least it was quick. We lost our old girl recently too, its absolutely rubbish but she was also in a bad way health wise and it was some comfort that she was out of pain.

Hugs.

I'm so sorry. 14yo is a really good age and it sounds like she was well loved and cared for. Sad

Shes been there through so much with me - moving in with dh, marriage, the birth of my dcs. She has been a nanny to the children, confidant and constant companion. Noisy bugger as well who always let us know if anyone was about on the farm.

Little dog keeps going back to old dogs bed looking for her Sad

kids seem to be taking it ok though...

Dh has just buried her in the orchard on the farm, in the spot where she used to sunbathe. Little dog and farm dog sat in guard of honour while he dug the hole Sad

I will go tomorrow and choose a tree to plant on her grave.

Why is it so hard?

Rid yard Kipling said it best: this is only one verse, but it's so true!

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!),
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone - wherever it goes - for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear!
