The doghouse

Ok, this morning I was a little bit worried that Lolly didn't want her breakfast but now I know why and I'm still a little worried

ok so this morning I didn't get my lazy arse up when I normally do and gecko let Lolly out for a wee this morning and then watched telly downstairs for a bit with her

when I came down about 20 mins later I made her her breakfast as normal and she didn't want it

thought very strange but just need to keep an eye on her
she went for a walk as normal, had a slightly less firm poo than normal (again I'll just keep an eye)
seemed altogether completely fine in herself and has just eaten her breakfast

so then dp goes to give the dogs a bit of liver from the load he cooked up for them to have over the next few days

he asks me where I've put it
I've not put it anywhere

yep you guessed it, I didn't realise he had left it out on the counter
and lolly has taken it upon herself to eat it all

approx 5 pounds of liver in one

should I be concerned?

anyone?

she has seemed totally fine, has had another long walk, chasing her guide dog friend around and eaten her tea

I'm guessing she is fine but isn't there an awful lot of iron in liver
is it a problem?

I'm not an expert.... But I would imagine anything her body doesn't like will 'pass through' quite quickly. I wouldn't worry about the iron thing - dogs in the wild would eat livers wouldn't they? Did she look all pleased with herself? A dog I had many ears ago would look decidedly shifty and 'do sausages' (the face) when he'd been up to anything! Grin

lol well we didn't notice until hours later

typical thing, where dp thought I'd put it away
I thought he'd put it away

she must have snaffled it all when the kids were down with her

its all my fault, I know I need to come down with her and keep an eye on her
shes still only 8 months ish and a right little monkey

its like having a boisterious toddler again lol

My dad had a springer spaniel that ate a pheasant (claws, feathers and all) that was hanging in the back of his truck - all that was left was the piece of string it was hanging on and the head!

I would just give her chicken and rice for the next few days, small amounts, im sure she will be fine x

It could be the vit A that could cause a problem? I know humans can OD on it and it is stored in the liver...

Hopefully she will be fine xxx
