Honestly up until a couple of days ago she was doing well but since the weather turned for the worse, so has she. I can be stood for 15 -20 min outside freezing my arse off 10 times a day, but a good 4 times in the day if not more she's piddling and pooing inside within mins of getting in, she's 10 weeks this week so maybe I shouldn't complain but I makes me sad that she was doing so much better when it was a few degrees warmer and sunnier

Hi Notonaschoolnight How's it going, apart from the pita bad weather?! Are you getting more sleep at night at least?

Hi there thank you for asking ladyt apart from above not too bad she wakes up once in the middle of the night and I take her out for 5 mins saying her word "quickly" and nothing else, she does nowt but her paper in her pen is well used so I change that and she gets back in her crate and that's it till get up time. That takes 10min and it prob takes me another half an hour to get back to sleep but surely at 10weeks I can't expect better or can I? In the day time it's full on when she's awake following her around to prevent accidents and playing/training but I don't have to tell you that you all know the score! She's still my little ewok though I don't want to send her back for a refund just yet!

My dog just refuses to go out when it rains and will whine at the door to go out and will pee/poo next to the door whenever the weather is rubbish! She has been like this since 9weeks...she is 18 months old now so I doubt she will change now...

do you use a prompt word? and then reward?

I have found, over time this works. Even my very old stubborn lady collie would poo on command Blush

yyou just have to praise positive and some of them don't like the rain, I do agree with that! (I don't either)

My geniuses have taken to pooping on the cocoa-fibre mat just outside the door to avoid having to wade into the snowy garden. Terrier goes under the trampoline to do her biz if it's raining...in true West Highland fashion Confused.

My dog stands at the edge of the kitchen (thus pretending that he is obeying, because he is technically in the room before the room which leads to the door). He then bows his head a la Eeyore on a bad day. His eyes beseechingly lift to meet mine.

I then say 'Out! Go for wee wees!'

He skulks past and then scuttles out the door, does a quick whizz and waits to be let back in!

Yes the bloody trampoline! She doesn't poo on the grass its either in the decking or in the wood chip corner we made for the trampoline so right now the trampoline is in the middle of the grass totally destroying it as the kids have been using the trampoline. What on earth do we do? We can't leave it there but I can't get under trampoline I get poo, I'm hoping there'll be sugg . She knows her word is "quickly" and she gets tons of praise when she goes, lots of "good quickly" in the enthusiastic voice, but no actual treat, maybe that's what I should do

My older dog hates going in bad weather but you have to be consistent or you end up with an ongoing issue.

Definitely treat when she goes. Also don't repeat the command when you are praising. That is very confusing for the dog as they don't have the same level of understanding as a human. To her she is hearing you tell her to go again if you say "good quickly".

Mine used to do this. I'd spend 15 minutes outside at 3am in the rain repeating her special word, with her huddled next to my leg looking pathetic, only to give up, go back inside and she would then pee on the carpet within a foot of the back door. I bought her a coat in the end, it was just easier! This was in bloody may mind you, not exactly cold.
She is still a huge wuss now, I swear she would stick her arse out the cat flap to pee/poo when it was snowing you have never seen anything like it, I has to drag her out with the lead on into the back yard.
