Hi - we lost our dog this evening in Herts (Bovingdon).
I have registered her as lost with the local dog wardens and rescue centres and an trawling through yell.com to get lists of kennels and vets in the area.

Does anyone know of any particular avenues I could try please?

Thanks :(

sorry to hear that. You need to register her on doglost.co.uk. Get lots of posters up and if you're in an area with lots of volunteers you'll get lots of help. Good luck.

Not lost a dog, but our cat was found in a shed after 3 days. Have you tried asking neighbours to look in out buildings etc?
I really hope your dog is found safe and well.. It's so upsetting....
Good luck to you

Thank you - someone else suggested doglost.co.uk and I've just done that so it's good to know that's well known.

Have also registered her as lost with the microhip people and the council dog wardens. Have emailed all the local vets and kennels and will ring round them as well in the morning.

Have put some makeshift posters up tonight - just marker pen type things, giving our numbers. Will get proper printed ones out there tomorrow.

Oh come back Boo :( :( :(

SHE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems half the village had contact with her last night. She was treated to a dinner of hot dog sausages by a kind stranger who took her in after someone else brought her to them and sounds like she slept a lot better than I did. Thank you thank you all x

Great news.

Just to add, if it ever happens again (fingers xed it doesn't) I would contact hope vets in bovingdon or park vets in watford as the two most local that people who found her would contact.

Also contact Dan shaw in chipperfield sw he knows everyone and everything canine in the local area. When I found a dog wandering the lanes I called him and by my description he was able to tell me where he thought little dog lived!

Just to add you can now PRE REGISTER your dogs on doglost.co.uk - by putting up a good description and photo you can save vital time when your dog is lost, and this is especially useful if you are on holiday or away from your pics.

That is quite a skill Principality! Thanks for that. Both those vets had an email - and then another one saying she'd been found. Grin

She has got a new bone and ball, and has had quite the best day of her life. She will probably pull this trick every time we go out now :)
