Argh, puppy has cracked my tv :(

Puppy is 5 months and I've left her on her own a few times (for an hour at most) and had no problems except a few puddles. However I went to pick dp up from work, was gone about 25 mins and when we got back, straight away dp noticed a little spider crack in the tv. He is NOT happy has has said I have to get rid of her (I'm not going to though) The telly is still working so far but dreading it packing in. Its a 51 inch, 3d plasma tv so expecting it to break fully soon (I read the gas escapes slowly) We do have insurance but I've only just claimed for an internet tablet and dds laptop (no luck with technology) so feel crap claiming again :( The crack is on the inside, so I don't think its fixable?

How did the puppy crack the telly on the inside? My dog has launched toys at the tv, but has so far missed. I dread the day when he hits his target.

The telly is in front of the window (room is a weird shape) and i guess she jumped up at it to look out of the window? TBH i didnt think it was her, maybe dd3 had done it through the day and i hadnt noticed? But dp is blaming the dog. The crack is only about the size of a 50p at the minute and right at the edge so not noticeable unless you are looking for it, hoping it stays like that!

5 months is very young still to be given free roam in rooms that aren't puppy proofed. I'm assuming that she's not crate trained, but do you have somewhere suitable to leave her where she cannot damage expensive items? It's massively unfair on a 5 month old pup to blame them. If a puppy damages something it is always your fault.

I have not told puppy off at all, she wouldn't understand. I don't have room for a crate or I would of got one. Think I'm going to have to keep her in the kitchen, but thought if I allowed her in the sitting room she would relax more. Dp has not spoke to me since. Honestly he is more worried about that stupid telly than his own kids.

As long as you leave a comfy bed and some toys etc she should be fine in the kitchen.

Maybe you should think about rehoming DP. He sounds like a right charmer!

Since no one saw the tv get damaged, no one really knows who damaged it. As you say, it may have been the pup, it may have been the DC...it may even have been due to a drop in temperature if it's internal or your DP may be blaming the pup because it was him

To clarify my position, I would pack my DH's suitcases and send them to wherever he was now living if he pulled a stunt like that!

And am mildly at the notion of a 51" tv, btw!

Well the tv swivels and when we walked in it had turned towards the window so apparently that was conclusive evidence it was pup! Dp seems better today, and the tv is still working. I think he's realised if it does break, it means he gets a new one

51" is way too big for our room but its dps baby, I was happy with the 32". Though the 3d is good.

See, I just don't trust televisions. Our last one caught fire. Never had a dog do that!
