How much exercise for a 6 month old pup?

Alandog is an airedale terrier mix. She is 6 months and still slightly underweight. She gets about 45 mins in the morning, off lead for about half of it. She also gets about 30 mins in the evening, mainly on lead.

Does this sound ok? To help with her nervous energy, a doggy friend has recommended exercising her lots so she's tired at home to stop some of her bad habits.

My husband has suggested jogging with her in the eve but I'm worried, as she is so young, it may harm her joints esp. As it would be on pavements rather than grass.

It's supposed to be 5 minutes per month - so 30 minutes a day at 6 months.

As well as that, high impact stuff (fetch or anything like that) should be on soft ground and jogging's a bit of a no no.

That's for large breed dogs or breeds with joint issues - I know nothing about Airedales... But she's already getting more than twice that amount of exercise?

I do loads of training and play games like find it to tire my puppy out, it doesn't shatter him like running about does - but it does keep him busy.

I have a Vizsla, so quite an energetic breed, and the general advice is 5 minutes per month of age, twice a day. She's now almost 12 months so she gets an hour and a half in the morning and half an hour in the evening. I don't think jogging on pavements is very good for their joints at that age.

Ok. So how do you tire them out apart from walks?
We do some clicker training during the day, playing with toys and she loves running up and down our stairs!
I get a bit stuck when it comes to mental stimulation and can only think of a kong. She sometimes gets a tube of cardboard or cereal box to rip up from the recycling!
Anything else?
