The doghouse

So this is the dog bed I would like....

here but, Oh my! The price!! (I'd go for the solid white one)

Please help me find a lovely, stylish dog bed for no more than £150. Scooby is a miniature my arse, he's massive already Labradoodle. He seems to favour the snuggle bed styles so that he can rest his head on the edge but I really want something stylish for my kitchen. (He sleeps in his crate in a boot room).

He is currently in this which he loves but isn't exactly a design statement!! He also sheds a lot so I'd prefer something cream/ light.

Something a bit like this I guess, in cream or white with a funky cushion.....

Their server seems to be down. Is it really just like your final link?

These are pretty much the best dog beds you can buy from a dogs point of view (which is surely more important?)

Dog bed as design statement? The mind boggles Grin

The first one you linked to looks uncomfortable and totally impractical.

Oooh, I like that one, Gobbler. Shame ArseDog already has a perfectly good bed. Wish I'd bought a wipeable one, though, rather than fabric covered.

Donkey, I can't see the one you like either, but I'll keep trying 'cos I'm nosey and always on the look out for something pointless to buy! Grin

Pickle has found this very serviceable. I tend to use this more.

We've got ones like these for our two (dark blue velvet). They look great and our Springer loves hers. Westie, however, turns her nose up in distaste at all products designed specifically for dogs as she prefers the cozy sensation of making a nest out of ruining the soft cushions on our naice couch.

Hi there, I thought labradoodles weren't supposed to shed much at all?

Thanks all -

Gobblers - I guess everything in your home can be a design statement if you like!! I was being a little tongue in cheek but, yes, I do want it to be comfy for him and look nice in my home too. (As I said, he has a great bed in his crate which is where he sleeps at night and when we are out).

Jix - he sheds like a bugger!! I didn't set out to get a Labradoodle but my neighbour breeds them and gave me one because we let her use our field for her horses. She tells everyone that buys one that you will get anything between a labrador and a poodle with regard to shedding - ours is definitely on the Lab scale!!

LeBof - I couldn't open your links.

BetterChoice - thats more the style I was looking for. I love these prints but I think that he prefers the beds with sides. I liked the Joules floral one but they are out of stock in the XL.

Not to worry, I'm sure I'll find something!

Op, one option is to buy some memory foam from Ebay and then have a zipped cover made in the furnishing fabric of your choice. V easy to run up a cover on a sewing machine. If you look for memory foam offcuts on Ebay they do sizes that are perfect for dog beds.

LeBof - sorry, if that was telling me to look for myself then I apologise. I thought that asking for the suggestions of other people was part of what Mumsnet is about.

Scuttle's suggestion of buying memory foam isn't one I had thought of and is a great idea. Similarly, I'd never heard of Orvis despite lots of Google searches.

So ha, bloody ha.

Thanks very much for those of you who made suggestions.

God, no, not at all Shock. I was just joking that the bloody dog has evicted me from my own bed. I don't think I'm quite that much of a cock, am I? Blush

Sorry Blush - both your links just take me to Google, I read Panda's comment incorrectly and I'm having a crappy day. Should exit MN at this point.

I really am sorry to be so touchy Thanks

Well I have to say if my dog had the bed in the OP, it would be shredded by morn!

Oh the amount I have bought over the years. We have managed a week once without the inners of the bed in shreds! Once it is torn, messed up and all over the place he feels more comfortable in it.Grin

Jasper ate all of his nice, pleasing on the eye beds. He now kips on a bright red bean bag he stole from DS2. Ungrateful hound.
