The doghouse

My dog is constantly being mistaken for a girl!

He is a boy! People are always coming up to him going "Ahhh she's lovely!", "What a gorgeous coat she's got!", "She's such a beautiful dog."

Ffs it's not even as if he's got loads of shaggy fur hiding his willy, he's a greyhound!! Poor lad'll get a complex at this rate.

He must have that sensitive, big eyed thang going Grin

People see what they want to see, you know, even with human babies!!

People do that same with my whippet. I wonder if it's because he's been "done" and therefore doesn't have hairy black balls hanging down?

Mind you, as Elibean says, people do the same with human babies too, I was told when ds1 was about a year old, that he "must be a girl, because he was too pretty to be a boy Hmm" - nope I'm fairly sure the last time I changed his nappy, he was still a boy.

Ha! Fab :o

He is. Very handsome dog and he does have a small willy because he hasn't got his balls, but even so, it's not invisible!

I know what you mean with human babies. Someone said to me last week about DD "Oh she's beautiful! She is a girl right?" she was wearing a bright pink coat and had a pink steering wheel attatched to the buggy. People are odd.

Dress him in pink?

I've taken a look at his pic on your profile. Blue collar, but I think slightly too pretty a shade maybe. Get him a leather collar (preferably with studs) and see if that sends a more masculine message.

Oh :( he likes his snazzy blue one

Its a very nice collar. You know, he probably doesn't actually mind being called 'she'.

I know, he probably hasn't a clue if he's a he or a she tbh :o iykwim.

Spag, we have the same issue with Whippetyboy. I just tell him that people call him a girl because he is so beautiful (and so scaredy of everything and so shy...)

He has a red velvet tag collar, want to get him an orange polka dot one but the family have vetoed that as 'too girlie' Hmm

Is the blue coat for males because of its colour or because it's tailored to suit the anatomy of a male? The beige version is also for males, are bitches only allowed to wear pink?
Personally I find commenting on the size of your dogs willy weird.

Perhaps he barks with a castrato voice? He may need to lower the tone.

Report
SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 09/05/2012 20:10

I don't think he's barked for ages now. Can't remember when he last did!

axure, I know, I am weird like that. I notice random things. Someone I know had their boxer castrated at 8 because he had cancer on one of his balls, his willy has shrunk by at least half! Btw I would just like to say, I don't walk around staring at dogs groins comparing sizes.

I think people mistake him for a girl because he has a very sleek and shiny black coat, vair glamorous looking :o

Relieved to know you're not a dog cock watcher Grin.
On a similar note was just watching Foxes Live and have just discovered that foxes and dogs have penis bones.

I'm sure he doesn't care, when I call my girl the boy comes running over.

Penis bones? Weird. Maybe that's where "boner" comes from.
