Barking -advice- next door's dog winding our's up

Now we've established that Patch is rather yummy, but possibly not as pure-bred as I thought Wink I'm hoping for some advice.

We have 2 dogs. 10 year old Westie - Alex - quiet, likes a quiet life, but will bark at TV programmes he doesn't like, etc. Loves to be outside in the garden.

5 month old ?Staff?Staff/JRT?Mutt - Patch - generally quiet but will bark if he wants Alex to play or is barked at.

We've moved house to a place with a bigger garden. But next door have 3 dogs. A golden retriever (probably around 10) a black lab (7/8 ish although looks to have a little Staffy in her, tbh) and a JRT (?age).

The Golden retriever isn't too bothered by my dogs.
The Lab a) 'doesn't like people much' and will bark if we are out in the garden.
The JRT is not getting used to our dogs being here. His owner said that he deliberately barks and barks to get a reaction from my dogs. Once he has got their attention, he goes for the fence quite 'assertively'.

Now, I know that I can't control their dogs, can only control my own. So far, I have had good success with a double clap of the hands and a stern 'with me'.

My general response to the huge noise (all 3 dogs join in next door, and my two bark back) is to go straight out, double clap, 'with me' and take them in.

I wondered if there is anything I could do to make the fence/hedging unattractive to my dogs to deter them from running to it and barking back, or any other tips to help them ignore next door's dogs?

I did have a chat with the owner yesterday (about other things) and said 'oh I'm sure JRT will get used to them being here soon....' and she said 'I'm not sure he will'.
