Nearly 6 month pup is currently fed raw- mix of wings/carcass, ribs, heart, odd bit of fish, (only small amount as makes him vomit.) and liver as treats when training.

Was just wondering if Id be ok to sometimes feed the odd kibble meal? Or would it upset his tummy? I've been looking at APPLAWS food, says it's 70% real meat. Anyone used this? Only as I was frantically searching the freezer for dog food the other day as hadn't realised I'd run out! I don't order from a big supplier, instead using my butcher/PAH/next doors farmer.

Also do you lot feed your dogs at the same time every day? It would be pretty hard for us to do this as AM walks vary and I like to walk him 1st otherwise he ignores the treats I use for walking nicely on lead! So if he's not had breakfast till 9/1 I move lunch back to about 2?? Am I making a big deal about nowt????

You can feed an odd meal of kibble but not at the same time as raw food. But he will be much better of without it - Nature diet would probably be better than kibble for a raw fed dog.

My dogs do not get fed at the same time each day - the only requirement is that it will be 2 hours before any exercise and an hour after. They also get fed at different times to each other eg if one is going agility training and some are not.

Thanks, I'm just going to start bagging it up into freezer bags when I get a load in, so I can just grab a few bags out at a time for a days worth of food. Think I felt a bit knocked the other day as was told it was my 'bad raw diet' that made pup constipated, I just fed mince for a day or so and all
back to normal. Introducing bone again but think I need to up the liver/offal.y neighbour gave me a couple of rabbits this morning so am just off in the back with my gloves and big saw to chop em up. Living the life! Great news re diff feeding times, too.

oh Blush but ask away!

You will need a bit of a thick skin if raw feeding but stick to your guns - you will see the evidence in a healthy happy dog.

Some dogs get more constipated so do watch the bone content, you will soon work out the correct amount. I give roughly 10% offal but use it mainly for training treats rather than in their general feed.

Rabbits fantastic lucky dogs!
