Attention anyone pregnant or a parent: Michel Odent 40 Minutes Birth Re-born to be shown on BBC4

...not that i want to pinch RTKanga's crown, but I thought that you all might want to know that the most amazing documentary on childbirth will be repeated (first shown in 1982) on BBC4 at 9pm on the 12th October.

It's all about Dr Michel Odent, the French natural birth chappie and will make wonderfully comforting and informative viewing (I think) for anyone about to give birth or who has ever given birth. Also to any NCT teachers out there... set your videos. There is an AMAZING scene of a breech baby coming out one foot at a time and some darling twins.

i know i should tell you nearer the time, but i'll forget, sorry.

And for the style shop ladies, believe me, those 80s pregnancy smocks are worth a look.

thanks, will have to keep a look out for that. I had hoped for a vaginal delivery for my dts but were both breech. I thiNk I made the right decision but this will make intresting viewing!

i'm sure you did make the right decision, of course, kelly, but it is so weird and extraordinary to see the woman standing up with this leeeetle foot coming out... Rather her than me, but she was absolutely fine (until the placenta got in the way for the next one and she was rushed for a CS).

although it does clash disastrously with Nigella i think? pah, i've seen it already, what do i care? it is wonderful, though, i'm never throwing my copy out.

TheBlairAitchProject · 12/10/2006 21:02

oh Nigella isn't on. when is that then?
you can indeed, vitomum, or i could lend you complete series of extras if you prefer... (showing off just a leetle... did you see i have Torchwood already? sooooo excited. especially as i have already seen every bloody thing that's on tonight.)
