Did anyone see it? I am a very infrequent viewer but was compelled to write this email today:-

"I just have to contact you re the ?stones in socks? comment. Given the current breastfeeding statistics in this country I was quite alarmed to hear this comment, surely this will do nothing to further the cause!

I would also like to state that this is not always the case. I have breastfed two babies, one for four months, the other for 16 months and am now a reasonably perky ?F? cup, I?m a size 12 so this is not due to being a big bloater.

Please think before making negative comments about breastfeeding."

No, we can't get c% here (what a loss LOL), however my tits are that small wouldn't mind them being big enough to be stones in socks LOL- better than a fried egg, least they can be hoisted up that way

Yes I saw it, thought the same as you MrsSpoon. No-one challenged the idea that bf is the cause of 'stones in socks'! Everything I have read indicates that pregnancy and age alter your breasts as opposed to bf. I also didn't like the psychologist's advice that much. It was a bit like, if you're not happy with your boobs after bf, get a boob-job. She didn't mention that it can take quite a while for them to 'perk up' a bit once you've stopped bf.

Very true Tatties, it was almost, if you don't get on with the push up bras etc get a boob job. I felt that women would be watching the programme this morning and be made to think that if they breastfeed they will end up with "stones in socks" for boobs and will need a boob job to repair the damage, perhaps leaving them thinking that it is less expense, pain and hassle just to formula feed and keep their current boobs.

You're all wimps! Perhaps I should have put this in breastfeeding, or maybe it's an indication of how many people actually watch Channel 5.

JT, near the end they were talking about women hating their bodies and a Mum came on and mentioned her boobs to which MW jumped in with a quick "yes, stones in socks" comment, the woman agreed then he mentioned it again after she was off the phone and the jist of it all was if you breastfeed you will have boobs that resemble "stones in socks".

Have you had a reply yet MrsSpoon? I emailed C5 recently to complain after a question and answer (you know the ones they put on at the ad break) on Doctor Doctor suggested that "Breastfeeding should stop at 2 years of age." They replied to say they hadn't intended to imply that bf past the age of 2 is wrong. But it was very badly worded and certainly came across that way. Very careless.

Sorry, but what do stones in socks look like? Doesn't it depend on the size of the stones? And the socks come to that .

Oh dear... I think I emailed my complaint to the customer services department (as well as the programme itself); that's where the reply came from and I'm sure it was within 24 hours.

That's a point, I don't suppose they reply to every mail direct to the show.
