Question about The Village

Is it me or do the toff family (the Allinghams?) seem to be living in a much grander house than they did in the last series?

Last year they were in what looked like a biggish manor type house, and now they are living in fucking Lyme Park!

They are in a different house. I think it belonged to Lady A's father, and had not been used for many years, from what she was saying in the first episode. However it strikes me as very convenient that it is in the same village as "The Village".

I find this programme very confusing as they don't seem to explain anything I.e. who anyone is and what they are doing. I don't particularly like to be spoon fed obvious pieces of information, but to me this show goes to the other extreme.

Ah, so they did try to explain it. I must have missed that.

I know what you mean although 8-years has passed, I think, so maybe they don't want to be explaining too much.

I am enjoying this series much more than the last one - no way near as bleak or depressing.

I am confused at the lack of bleakness. Last series was one depression after the next. This one is getting close to Larkrise in it's whimsy. Thank goodness there's still The Mill for proper miserable Sunday night drama Wink

Anyone else find themselves frowning "So who's that?" at various places in the programme?

It's getting a bit "soapy", isn't it?

So agnes is pregnant?

Do we think she will marry the guy who sacked her?

What about Martha working?

Surely not?

She's married, & to an Allingham!!

I think Agnes would like to marry the spin doctor fella - if only because she is pregnant, but I don't think he has any intentions of that sort!

There will deffo be something going on between Martha and the conchie teacher.

I did prefer the last series, and I liked the bleakness. Shock that it's getting as whimsical as Lark Rise (I'm still cross at that awful, sketchily based on the book, programme). I'll be switchig off if it does.

The Mill is definitely more miserable, but very very like a soap opera (in saying that, I'm still watching it). I think I'm kind of interested as one of our frequent walks (in childhood) was past the mill the series is based on.
