The Walking Dead Season 5 trailer

Is anybody else so excited by the first trailer for season five of The Walking Dead shown at Comic-Con? It looks very good - though very dark (except I do see Judith). I cannot wait.

The problem with season 4 was too much BETH! She even managed to ruin Darryl for me. Until she was kidnapped.

I think they overdid the single character episode. For instance I didn't even watch the Governor flashback episode. As soon as I realised it was going to feature only him I stopped watching because honestly I have no interest in him.
In the same way Beth deciding to go through teenager rebellion and egg drunk and act like an idiot was not interesting to me. She acted to sheltered and naive she lost all credibility as a character- in the background she was fine but on her own she was a pain.

I agree, anonacfr! It's just so frustrating when you realise the plots not going to progress in that week's episode.

Yah I just came on here to say exactly the same. I'm ridiculously excited about this. Still have last seasons recorded so will have to start rewatching in preparation.

I'm a bit bored of TWD at the moment. The last season was so boring and Rick is getting on my nerves.

The trailer looks like the same old story to me. It seems like The Governor situation all over again. Boring.

I didn't mind all the character driven episodes of season 4 I have to be honest.

I think in a way it just reflects Scott Gimple taking over as show runner and using season 4 to flesh out the bones of previous seasons which have largely ignored character development - especially of secondary characters. Having done that groundwork I imagine he is really going to push the story arc in season 5. Apparently he is a fan of the graphic novel so it will be interesting to see if he more closely follows that.

So excited about this. I can't contain myself! I follow a page called Wet Paint on fb which has some excellent TWD stuff on it. October isn't so far away now, not like when we'd just finished season four and it seemed an eternity!

I hate how she and Daryl had this great chemistry and are they/aren't they type relationship... then following loads of comments about how Carol wasn't "hot enough" and "like, olllld" they moved him away from her and toward Beth.

I also quite like the individual story lines but totally agree with anon about the governor and beth episodes. I mainly just fast forwarded those. I never did get all the interest in the guv. I thought he was dull as dishwater, unless michonne was poking him in the eye with a sharp pointy thing.

I can't wait for season 5. I've loved all of them although I thought 2 did drag on a bit on the farm.

I thought they gave away a little too much in the trailor.

I read something online that Norman Reedus had said about the focus on daryl and beths relationship.

He explained it as showing the contrast between her character as the optimist and his as the pessimist and how she was sort of signifying the light at the end of the tunnel for daryl.

And how he had found the group and lost them, found his brother and lost him and now found and lost beth and how that might affect him

Just spent far too long on YouTube looking for trailers. If I've watched the same one that was linked to then I agree that it's given too much away already. Although I'm not sure about the worry for Glen?

I said on the season 4 thread that the car we saw take beth had a medical cross on the rear windows. I think she is being held in some sort of medical or clinical facility.

Sorry, I'll shut up now , it's just the only show that gets me this excited
