Undercover boss. How can the employees not know?

Some bloke or woman roughly the same age and build as the big boss turns up with a camera crew "making a documentary". They faff about pretending to do the job whilst asking lots of questions about morale and the operation. Surely the employees know what's going on.

I completely agree. Nice idea, but really don't believe it any more.

I always wonder this Confused it's been on for years, so it's not like it's unheard of.

And as for the secret millionaire... I had to stop watching that as it was patently obvious that some participants were ramping up the sob stories to get a bigger cheque at the end.

If that happened to me I'd be laying the sob stories on pretty thick, adding an extra 10k to my student debt, oh I haven't been abroad for two decades etc etc etc Grin
It is SO OBVIOUS NOW.

can't stop watching though

Ahahaha Coconutty that's exactly what I thought as soon as he said that.

Mind you I still got all.teary when he got his scholarship. And the look on his face when the boss said he was going to attend his graduation and take him to a game afterwards. He deserved a break.

And when he said, if my mum could see me now she would give me a hug and a kiss on my cheek, well he sounded just like that little twelve year old kid who lost his mum and his siblings all over again

But yes, you'd have to be pretty thick to not at least have an inkling these days.

I used to go to a hairdressers that was featured in a past series, they were told that the boss was being filmed for a documentary about the long term unemployed getting back into work.

Luckily none of the staff recognised her!

I would not know my CEO or managing directors. I only see my area supervisor about twice a year and he does not speak to anyone.....

Even if you fell for the Channel 4 doing a documentary abut a homeless person getting back in to work (which I could see you might just conceivablyfall for) there is no way when you get driven to head office to 'discuss your experience' that you wouldn't remember the show's format!
