did anyone else watch this tonight? it was pretty compelling stuff. It is alleged that one of the main Police offiers on the case originally was taking bribes from the father of Richard Norris, one of the gang accused.
I felt the programme itself was a bit hit and miss but I have always felt that those men were very much the guilty ones.

Yeah, not sure about the programme overall, but the surveillance tape of the suspects just made them seem such horrible, horrible people. Ugh.

I was a bit surprised there was such a song and dance about it. Basically it told us that the 5 suspects' alibis didn't stand up to scrutiny and that the officer in charge of the investigation screwed it up because he was corrupt. Which was pretty obvious, as it is physically impossible to be as incompetent as the police appeared at the time - the only possible explanation was corruption. Am I having a false memory system, or is this allegation of that bloke taking bribes from Norris already in the public domain? I am almost 100% sure that I read that years ago.

Whatever, I hope that this programme makes them realise that this isn't going to go away. Every 5 or 10 years it's going to re-surface and it will always be hanging over their heads. If they're not actually convicted this time round.

It amazed me that some of them are happily settled with children. What sort of woman would want to have children with one of them? Takes all sorts I suppose.

Sorry meant false memory syndrome... well, it was late!
