How did he survive jumping of that building? How did he get all that blood back inside him? How did he survive being dead?! Shock

You mean, how did he fake his death?

... all will be revealed ...

On New Years Day. So you'll have to wait, like the rest of us.

How can you fake close ups of is (a) falling from the top of a building. (b) lying broken and bleeding on the pavement 3 seconds later with a clear close of his face!!!???

Waiting with trepidation. Please don't let it all be a dream in the shower like Dallas!

I am soooooo excited about this. Fantastic tv start to the new year. I think he used a 'dummy' body off the roof....then I get stuck!

There was a van. Full of mattrasses......and Molly had some friends in the mortuary, with a good line in masks.

We have all just rewatched the first two series, really great writing and acting, can't wait until New YEar's Day - its going to be fab by all accounts.

Sherlock did ask for Molly's help before he went off to meet Moriarity at Barts - but it had to look realistic to keep the killers of his friends at bay.

I kind of wondered if he had changed the corpse with Moriarty who had already killed himself, did we ever really see the body, I think we did, but with Sherlock's DNA, who knows - certainly John Watson was convinced.

Can't wait!! Grin

There are theories on the internet if you're interested.

The mattress on the van would have broken his fall. The blood was applied when John got knocked by the bicycle. Sherlock was surrounded by accomplices to obscure John's view while having fake blood applied to make it look realistic....

I watched the repeat on bbc 4 last week and didn't get the Molly connection! But sounds right, somehow Confused

Lots of people surrounding him after falling so maybe?

According to the new episode trailer he is gone for 2 years!

Can't wait either, and no bloody adverts every five minutes Xmas Grin

He has the homeless network too, I thought that's where the bystanders come from.

I rewarded the last ten minutes of the last episode last week. It's SO good.

One thing I did notice is Sherlock directing John where to stand - and there's a building obscuring John's view of the ground so he never sees Sherlock hit the ground (because he falls into the truck instead).

Oh I'm so EXCITED!

The explanation had better be bloody good. If they come up with some bollocks about it being a stuffed Sherlock or that he landed on a pavement made of featherdown mattresses or that he put a "Dead Sherlock" mask on as he fell, I will not be happy.

Molly was definitely part of it, though. She had access to dead bodies.

Molly is important because of the way Moriarty tells Sherlock that he is threatening all the people important to Sherlock - Watson, Mrs Hudson, Lestrade. But not Molly. Everyone forgets about Molly, which is what she herself says to Sherlock - "I don't count."

I've also seen internet rumours about the man on the bicycle who knocks John over - that he injected him with some sort of drug as he did so so that John was all confused and disorientated when he went over to the body Confused

What about Irene Adler? She talked about having faked her own death because she needed to disappear for a while. Or is that a red herring?

I'm rewatching the last series too, prepping for NYD Grin.

Like an idiot I deleted the last episode after I watched it a couple of weeks ago so can't look again at all these theories. Trucks, mattresses, trucks, drugs!! Oooohhh!

It better be good, but knowing the way this series has gone I know it will be Xmas Grin

Wasn't there pictures from filming that showed that hypnotist bloke talking to John? The cyclist knocks him, when he gets up the famous hypnotist is there? Darren something.

John saw what he expected to see, because of what he was anticipating and afraid of, and had the suggestion planted in his head. Obvs the body was organised by Molly etc.

Or did I imagine seeing those pics? Will have to Google now to see if I am mad.

Darren brown can make you believe the world has been taken over by zombies so he could easily do a fake death.

I've totally missed all these things when I watched the repeat!

Wasn't Irene Adler in elementary, the American Sherlock Holmes series?

(I also watch that Blush )

Yes, because she's in the original Conan Doyle stories - or at least one, I'm afraid I haven't checked - where she is described, in relation to or by Sherlock, as 'the only woman'.
