I was only watching half-heartedly. Why did Micheletto murder his lover and why didn't his lover put up a fight? And did Micheletto commit suicide, as I didn't see him with Cesare after that scene?

Bump. Am I the only fan out there?

I lurved the Borgias. I think micheletto murdered his lover as he is loyal to Cesare. The lover was a spy sent by caterina sforza, but micheletto luffed him so killed him "nicely" Hmm I think his lover accepted his fate as he kind of loved him back, despite being a spy, and knew he was done for and wanted to make it easier for Micheletto to show him that. Maybe.

As to whether he is dead or not you must wait for a later episode! He wrote "goodbye" in blood (whose?!) Do you want spoilers?

That episode was heartbreaking, he's my favourite character! I was shouting at the TV a lot.

Oh Umlauf, yes please, spoilers if you have them. Next Monday is the last episode anyway!

Cesare....mmm,yummy! What's with all the touchy-feely father-son stuff engineered by the Jewish merchant?

Lucrezia grows beautiful by the day. Did you think this series was very light in terms of plot?

And DH swears he saw Micheletto's body in the room. I was away making a cuppa, and I ddin't have the heart to rewind and prove him wrong...

Hmm

He's not dead! (Wikipedia told me so, he died in battle).

He's taking time out because he is heartbroken, bless.

He pops up later to warn Cesare of some impending doom, and pops back down again.

I'm gutted they've stopped it. There was another version (more gory and sexier) just called "Borgia" but its too much blood for me, I am too weak for game of thrones too! Might try the Tudors...

Is this the last season then? I have to say the bloke who plays Cesare is absolutely blimming gorgeous.

It is the last season, sadly. I think I'm behind as Micheletto is alive and well at the moment.

Agree about Cesare Smile

Thanks Elsiequadrille but very disappointed to hear it's the last season.

Great minds think alike on the Cesare front. ;)

Another Borgia fan here - another Cesare fan too. Also gutted that the next episode will be the last.

There is a book about the Borgias by Sarah Dunant called Blood and Beauty, that is excellent and has a slightly different version of events.

Thanks for that Matchsticksforeyes I'll look that up as I like Sarah Dunant's historical novels anyway.

I watched the last episode. How sad it's all come to an end. I think there are some 'save the Borgias' type campaigns, but I expect they'll come to nothing.

I'm reading too, now. Interesting period.

It's really annoying they cancelled it before the story really ended. There was talk of a film to tie up loose ends but apparently that isn't going to happen now either.
