As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

Ooh I was just about start my own thread. I set series link for 'the returned' (or so I thought!!) have just watched first episode and realised I've missed one or two. Next one set to record says camille is under new identity as Alice- so how much have I missed?!

Ok apparently the writers were very influenced visually by Let the Right One In.
Just like I said.

How sad is my life that I was very proud of myself when I found out?

phantom i would say you've missed two - 'simon' and 'julie'. I think someone said the next one is called 'victor', but camille started being alice in 'julie'. Iyswim. Get thee to 4od!

I've seen that advertised and was planning to watch. Don't tell me I've missed a load Sad
There's hardly anything worth watching on tv at the moment so I was looking forward to it.
Is it on 4od?

I lurked through the whole of the other thread but will mark my place here Grin

Despite having started the other thread, I'm defecting to this one; the original thread got a bit confusing because different people are at different stages in the series.

Looking forward to tomorrows and finding out more about Victor, hopefully.

Oh Dam-not that old theory Grin
I might be eating my words-who knows (have only watched the first 3 on c4 so deffo no spoilers from me)

It's a SUPERB theory and I shall cling to it desperately in face of sceptics with their scientific evidence and randomised controlled trials.

Hmmmpff!

Just checking in. I'm sticking with the non spoilery not watching aheady gang. It's nice to speculate wildly and all go "ooooh did you see that" at the same time Grin

I'm liking the village under the water theory (and of course Bore's Homeopathic Dam theory). Although I'm not sure how a drowned village would relate to the returned ones seeing as so far they have all died in very non water related ways?

And Victor??? Looking forward to sussing him out a bit more

Bore, give me your Dam theory in a nutshell please :)

NoHank - the coach could have ended up in the water, no? We didn't see where it landed...and Serge might have drowned?

I'm def on this thread - cant believe some have watched all the episodes Shock

Someone said same as me on other thread

That when Lucy is being attacked that she lingers - she kneed serge in the balls and then hesitated

Wouldn't you scream and run away?

Yet she stays for a few seconds - which means she then gets stabbed

Normally watch live but away for weekend and won't be back till afterwards - so I won't read this thread after 9pm
Tomorrow evening :)

The Homeopathic Dam Theory in a nutshell for BlackAffronted:

The water in the dam is homeopathic water which remembers dead people/things and reconstitutes them when the time is right.

Everything in the old village (which we are assuming existed) is under the water and everything in the new village has at some point been in contact water which has drained into the dam. Therefore the Homeopathic Dam can revenant anything that is or ever was in the villages.

Supporting evidence: the French are v v keen on homeopathy (I learned that on Mumsnet!)

The bus didn't fall in the lake though. Wasn't there a different angle scene (when we see the road at the v beginning of the show) where we see the valley underneath where (presumably) the bus landed?

I still think it's likely there's something buried at the bottom of the lake- near my grandparents house (in France) there's an artificial lake similar to the one in the program. A local village was abandoned in preparation for the water level rising but in the end the lake didn't reach it. It's still there and quite eerie to visit.
There was a hippy commune there in the 70s but it is now in ruins. They've oddly kept a town hall (deserted) and a post office (also deserted) there.

Technically, though, it should be the homeopathic reservoir theory...

I have a theory! (It's a crap one!)

Are people being resurrected because the Wrong person died, or someone else who was supposed to have didn't.

E.g should Lena have died because she was supposed to be on the bus?

And why didn't Julie die?

Intrigued as to who drove the car that killed Simon... Was it one of the brothers from the bar, including the psychopath?

And why does Lena have a fatal looking scar growing on her back?

Am I right one thinking that the wolf came back to life because it was killed by the resurrected murderer?

And why the dead rabbit in the bin in Lena and camille's house?

No idea abou the water draining out or creepy victor yet! Presume the whole thing revolves around Julie though in the end.
