DCs going MAD! like at Christmas, she can't wait.

mind you, nor can I.

and gory games straight after that. love rattus and dave Lamb together.

Anyone elses DCs (or anyone else!) waiting in anticipation?

MrsMcEnroe Mon 20-May-13 17:13:13

Yes!! my DCs are very excited, but I am even MORE excited!!!!

I LOVE HH and the men in it

marjproops Mon 20-May-13 17:18:14

I KNEW the first reply would be about the guys in itgrin

don't blame you tbh. I do have a thing for Jim and Simon and DC loves Lawry and Larry- actually she loves all of them, even Martha!

MrsMcEnroe Mon 20-May-13 17:49:02

Sorry marj <slaps self> - it's just that they do the whole acting thing so damn well!!

marjproops Mon 20-May-13 18:01:28

dd and I did a little excited dance when we saw that series 5 is starting Monday.
Does anybody know what time it will be on?

marjproops Tue 21-May-13 17:43:35

4.30 Monday. cbbc.

notice theyre going a bit more recent, theyve alwasy stopped at WW2 but seen the lovely Jim as an American astronaut, that would be the 60.s, and the song is about Rosda Parks so thatd be around the 50's/60's too.

marjproops Tue 21-May-13 17:44:40

Rosa Parks, here we go again with the typos!!!!

Gracelo Wed 22-May-13 06:28:58

Gah, I'm still at work at 4.30pm, I hope they repeat it on Saturday mornings as they used to, or I watch it on iPlayer.
I read somewhere that there will be a song about Dickens done as a Smiths song, can't wait.

Gracelo Wed 22-May-13 20:00:12

Not in Scotland, at least not here in Argyll, marj, my dcs are at school on Monday, they'll be home In time for HH though.

marjproops Wed 22-May-13 20:36:25

oh ok. its repeated tues morn at 7.45am.

when I lived in Europe wed have loads of bank hols, now we get less in England, but you must get less there? or you have yours a different day?

anyway im sure youll catch up with it at some point!

Gracelo Wed 22-May-13 20:53:01

I still don't quite get the Scottish bank holidays. We did the early May holiday, both at work and the schools but not this one. I'm from Bavaria and there are loads of bank holidays there.
I might have to watch it on iPlayer. Time to get a Sky box that can record, I think.

marjproops Mon 27-May-13 17:24:29

well that was worth the wait!

bit weird though they doing the 60's now but good sketches.

doesn't Dominique sing well?

scaevola Mon 27-May-13 17:27:39

I've just posted on the chat thread - I feel really, really old that they're now including events I remember happening.

marjproops Mon 27-May-13 17:45:41

well I was 4 when the moon landing happened so I feel old now too!!

Claudiecat Mon 27-May-13 17:56:02

How could I have missed this?? Will catch up on iplayer! We met Terry Deary and Martin Brown at Warwick Castle on Saturday. It was fab. They were both lovely. Really took their time talking to the kids and signing books for them.

marjproops Tue 28-May-13 18:42:27

How BRILLIANT was the Simon and Garfunkel spoof? Mats hair!!! I was on the floor!

I laugh with all the songs tbh but this one and the aztec priests are the tops for laughter!

They are SOOOO clever! Well worth the licence fee :-)

marjproops Tue 28-May-13 19:18:11

ReadytoorderSir we should change our MN names to Federer and Murray- we're playing tennis between our 2 threads!!!! going from one to the other grin.

marjproops Wed 29-May-13 18:32:36

Spot Al Murray in the Smiths spoof song today?!? I did once I got over drooling laughing at Jims brilliant Johnny Marr style!

Wonder what Morrissey makes of that?! grin Totally wasted on my DCs ... had to do some Googling to show them.

I did spot Al Murray - how cool to get a cameo appearance.

LIZS Wed 29-May-13 19:02:28

but aren't most of them aimed at the more mature audience members ! How many under 14s would recognise Adam Ant , Kate Bush, Simon and Garfunkel, even Take That ?

They're just pandering to the Mummies because they KNOW we watch grin

marjproops Wed 29-May-13 19:11:45

I love that they spoof older stuff as

1-decent music was older music,

2- makes kids appreciate originals like Adam Ant/Smiths etc. (most of todays is crap)

eg- I love Simon and Garfunk so DC knows their stuff and she knew what Mat and Jim were doing on yesterdays.

and David Bowie and Adam ant.

so Im all for it.

Kate Bush came on the radio the other day and Dc said 'its Mary Tudor'!!!
