Is it just that I don't get out much, or is CBeebies putting some serious housewives' choices on the bedtime story?

I mean, it used to be Penelope Keith telling one of those appalling Bebe rabbit stories. Now it's John Sims, and Philip Glenister (is that how you spell it) and today, Captain Jack from Dr Who reading Winnie the Witch. Has the Beeb got wise to the, you know, needs of the more motherly watcher?

Well they are very progressive if that's the case as it was Graham Norton the other day Wink

They've had the bloke who is Lily Savage too, come to think of it.

But Captain Jack...we're talking seriously polymorphous perversity here, innit.

Ooooh, was glued to John Sims. DS not interested in the slightest, but no way was he going to bed until that bedtime story was over....

I'm just glad they're doing proper stories by Real Authors and not all that made up Beebee and Bracken nonsense that I think they got some YTS trainee to write (oooh, showing my age now, they don't have YTS trainees anymore do they?)

What are the chances of Julian Rhind-Tutt making an appearance, perhaps reading Odd Job Dog?

Oooh stop. I can see (with slight inspiration) Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow stepping up to read Dog's Colourful Day.
The more I think of it, the more it becomes my dream scenario.

Oh god - Marc Warren - I once had the filthiest dream about him, millie.

Not after watching CBeebies, I hasten to add...
